Introduction to Peak Five!

Welcome to Peak Five Collective

We often get asked how we do what we do — how our listings are priced so low, and whether our products are authentic. In this article, we’ll shed some light on our process, our story, and how we’re able to offer top-tier cycling products at unbeatable prices.

Our Story

Peak Five Collective was founded in 2023 by Jack Bittel. What began as Jack’s teenage passion for buying and selling bikes and components quickly grew into a full-fledged business. As his experience and industry connections expanded, so did the scale of deals — leading to the creation of Peak Five Collective.

How We Source Products

The cycling industry moves fast. With new models and technologies launching each season, brands frequently update the components on their complete builds. This constant evolution often leaves manufacturers with excess inventory — high-quality parts that are no longer part of the latest product line.

That’s where Peak Five steps in. We help brands by purchasing overstock, locked, or otherwise out-of-cycle inventory. This allows us to offer genuine, name-brand components to our customers at significantly reduced prices — without compromising on quality.

In recent years, we’ve expanded our operations with a larger warehouse, a growing team, and even more connections throughout the cycling world.

What Is OEM?

Many of the components we stock are classified as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). These are parts produced specifically for complete bikes sold by major brands, rather than for individual retail sale.

Functionally, OEM components are identical to their aftermarket counterparts but may vary slightly in packaging, or small specifications to suit a particular bike model (which we will always specify). In short, they’re the exact parts you’d find on a brand-new bike straight from the factory.

OEM components play a vital role in the cycling industry. They allow frame manufacturers to showcase the latest drivetrains, suspension, and wheels while helping component brands get their products featured on the newest models.

Why Brands Work with Us

Forecasting production is complicated. Bike brands plan their model years far in advance, estimating how many frames they’ll produce and which components they’ll use. But sometimes production changes, market demand shifts, or product cycles move faster than expected — leaving brands with extra inventory they can’t use.

Peak Five helps by purchasing this surplus inventory. It’s a win-win: brands free up warehouse space, and riders get access to authentic, high-quality components at a fraction of retail prices.

Our Commitment

The cycling industry is complex, and a lot happens behind the scenes before a product reaches your doorstep. With bike and component prices climbing across the industry, we’re committed to keeping cycling accessible by offering exceptional products at fair prices.

We hope this gives you a clearer picture of who we are and how we operate. Every item we sell is 100% authentic and sourced directly through trusted industry relationships.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. And if you’ve had a great experience with Peak Five, we’d love for you to leave us a review — your feedback helps us keep growing and improving.
